SAE 5614 Heat Treatments


  • Product 178 mm and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides shall be hardened by heating to 954°C ± 5°C (1750°F ± 10°F), holding at heat for 25 to 30 minutes, and cooling in air and tempered by heating to a temperature not lower than 593°C (1100°F), holding at heat for 60 minutes ± 5, and cooling in air.
