SAE 21-6-9 LC Heat Treatments
- Solution heat treated by heating in a suitable atmosphere to a temperature not lower than 1038 ± 14°C (1900 ± 25°F), holding at heat for a time commensurate with cross-sectional thickness and cooling at a rate equivalent to a rapid air cool or faster.
- Bars: Solution heat treated and descaled, to hot finished or cold finished tolerances;
Wire: Cold finished, and solution heat treated;
Forgings, extrusions and flash welded rings: Solution heat treated and descaled
