Homogenized, Overaged, Solution heat treated and Maraged:
Homogenization
Maximum Section Thickness up to 25 mm, Exclusive: Heat to 982 ± 14°C (1800 ± 25°F), hold at heat for not less than 4 hours, and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster;
Maximum Section Thickness 25 to 51 mm, Inclusive: Heat to 1149 ± 14°C (2100 ± 25°F), hold at heat for not less than 4 hours, and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster;
Maximum Section Thickness Over 51 mm: As agreed upon by purchaser and producer;
Overaging:
Heat to 593 ± 14°C (1100 ± 25°F), hold at heat for not less than 4 hours, and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster;
Solution heat treating:
Heat to 816 ± 14°C (1500 ± 25°F), hold at heat for 1 hour per 25 mm of section thickness but in no case less than 1 hour, and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster;
Marage:
Heat to 482 ± 14°C (900 ± 25°F), hold at heat for not less than 3 hours, and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to an air cool or faster
