SAE 302 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heating to 1010-1121°C (1850-2050°F). Stress relieving between 468 ± 13.9°C (875 ± 25°F) and 816°C (1500°F) is prohibited. Stress relieving should be at 899°C (1650°F) for 1 hour; water quenching.
- Solution heat treated, cold drawn, heated to 371°C ± 14°C (700°F ± 25°F), and descaled.
