SAE 14-4PH Heat Treatments
- Homogenization Heat Treatment:
When acceptable to purchaser, heatin a neutral or slightly reducing atmosphere to 2100°F ± 25 (1149°C ± 14), hold at heat for not less than 90 minutes, and cool as required to below 70°F (21°C).
Solution Heat Treatment:
Heat in a neutral or slightly reducing atmosphere to 1900°F ± 25 (1038°C ± 14), hold at heat for 1 hour per inch (25 mm) of section thickness but not less than 30 minutes, and cool as required to below 70°F (21°C).
Precipitation Heat Treatment:
Heat to 1100°F ± 15 (593 °C ± 8), hold at heat for not less than 4 hours, and cool in air.
