PN 20G Heat Treatments
- 1. For case hardening: Heated in the range 1100-850°C, cooled in the water, than normalized at 870-900°C, cooling in the air. Softened at 650-700°C, cooling in the air. Hardened in water or oil at 830-870°C. Carburized at 900-980°C, (carburizing temperature generally not exceed 950° C, for special technologies, for example in vacuum, apply higher carburizing temperature, e.g. 1020 to 1050°C), than cooled in 1.water or oil, 2.furnace or 3. in the air; Hardening B: 1. Core area at 860-880°C, 2.Carburized area at 780-800°C and 3.Centarline area in water or oil. Tempering 1h at 150-200°C; 2. Wrought steel: Heated at 1100-900°C, softened at 650-700°C and normalized at 880-920°C. Hardened at 860-900°C, center zone cooled in water, than tempered at 550-660°C.
