ASME SA-1017 Grade 23 Heat Treatments

  • Plates shall be normalized at 1040 - 1080°C (1900 - 1975°F). Tempered at 730 - 800°C (1350 - 1470°F).
    If permitted by the purchaser, may be austenitized at 1040 - 1080°C (1900 - 1975°F), subjected to accelerated cooling from the austenitizing temperature by air blasting or liquid quenching, and then tempered at 730 - 800°C (1350 - 1470°F).
