UNI Fe 460-2 KT Heat Treatments


  • The specification contains the following heat treatment: Material with a maximum diameter or thickness of 100mm shall be quench hardened and tempered (Q+T) as follows: Harden by oil or water quenching from 880 - 920°C, then temper at 580 - 660°C and air or furnace cool. If this material is to be used at elevated temperatures and is to be subject to elevated temperature testing, the tempering temperature shall not exceed 620°C for a maximum of 3 hours.
