UNI 20 Mn 6 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heat to 680 - 720°C, hold for a minimum of 2 hours then slow cool in the furnace (approximately 50°C/hour) to 500°C or below, followed by cooling to room temperature in still air. Normalizing: Heat to 870 - 890°C, hold for a sufficient time to complete the transformation, then cool in still air. Final Heat Treatment: Harden by water quenching from 840 - 860°C, followed by tempering at 600 - 630°C for one hour. Sheet and strip shall be produced using either the hot or cold rolled process.
