UNI 15 NiCrMo 13 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heat to 600 - 660°C, hold for a minimum of 2 hours then slow cool in the furnace (approximately 50°C/hour) to 500°C or below, followed by cooling to room temperature in still air. Parts shall be finally heat treated by carburizing followed by hardening and stress relieving. The specification gives the following guideline hardening and stress relieving heat treatment: Harden by oil quenching from 820 - 840°C for 1h. Stress relieve by heating to 170 - 190°C for a minimum of 2 hours, followed by cooling in still air.
