UNI 12 NiCr 3 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heat to 600 - 680°C, hold for a minimum of 2 hours then slow cool in the furnace (approximately 50°C/hour) to 500°C or below, followed by cooling to room temperature in still air. Harden by oil quenching from 900 - 920°C/ 1h. Stress relieve by heating to 150 - 180°C for 2 hours, followed by cooling in still air.
- Hot worked at 1100-900°C; Cementation at 870-900°C; Core hardened at 810-880°C; Surface hardened at 810-840°C. Quenched in hot water bath; Stress relieved at 150-200°C.
