AFNOR NF Z 160 CDV 12 M Heat Treatments


  • Quenched and tempered (I);
    Air or oil quenched at 980 to 1030°C and tempered at 150 to 260°C. Quenching normally preceded by a full annealing treatment. Quenched:
    - for t <= 100 mm, still air quenched,
    - for t <= 140 mm, blown air quenched,
    - for t <= 280 mm, quenched in oil
    Quenched and tempered (II);
    Air or oil quenched at 980 to 1030°C and tempered at 400 to 520°C + 150 to 260°C. Quenching normally preceded by a full annealing treatment. Quenched:
    - for t <= 100 mm, still air quenched,
    - for t <= 140 mm, blown air quenched,
    - for t <= 280 mm, quenched in oil
    Structure:
    - for +QT1 condition – Martensitic, austenitic, carbide
    - for +QT2 condition – Martensitic, carbide, (austenitic)
    Annealed at 700°C to 760 or Full annealed at 950 to 1100°C, cooled 25°C / h up to 550°C or at 950 to 1100°C, cooled isothermal 760°C, 4 - 10h.
