AFNOR NF XC 10 Heat Treatments
- Normalization at 900 to 925°C
Cementation process at 890 to 940°C
Hardening (core) at 880 to 920°C, water quenching
Hardening (surface) at 770 to 810°C; water quenching
Tempering at 150 to 200°C. - Conditions given as a guide.
Carburazing treatment:
Carburizing: 890-940°C;
Through hardening: 880-920°C;
Hardening of carburized surface: 770-810°C;
Tempering: 150-200°C.
Hardening medium: water.
