EN 1.7715 Heat Treatments
- Normalized and tempered (+NT) or Quenched and tempered (+QT): 950-990°C, cooled in air, polymer or oil. Tempered: 670-720°C, cooled in air or furnace.
- Normalizing and tempering (+NT): 930-990°C, air cooling. Tempering: 680-730°C, air cooling. Normalizing includes Normalizing Forming, Normalized Forming shall be carried out in a temperature range from 880-1000°C.
It may be necessary in the case of wall thickness T above 10 mm or T/D > 0.15 to apply quenching and tempering in order to achieve the intended structure and material properties.
