DIN 21 CrMoV 5-7 Heat Treatments
- (+QT) Quenched: 880-950°C, cooled in oil, air or water, Tempered: 680-720°C (min 2h).
- Hot forming: 1100-850°C;
Hardening, quenching or solution annealing (cooling in oil or air): 890-940°C;
Tempering or age hardening or precipitation hardening: 680-720°C; min. 2h
Stress relieving annealing: 580-650°C.
Because of its importance with regard to embrittlement, it is not permissible to go above the quenching temperature or below the tempering temperature quoted.
