DIN 1.7386 Heat Treatments
- Heat treatment (G): Hot forming at 1100 - 850°C. In the process, the temperature may drop to 750°C. Soft annealing: Soaking at 920 - 980°C, cooling in a furnace for 2 - 4h to 700 - 720°C, followed by cooling in air. Or, soaking at 950 - 980°C, retarded cooling in a furnace to 550°C, followed by cooling in air. Heat treatment (V): Hot forming at 1100 - 850°C. In the process, the temperature may drop to 750°C. Hardening at 960 - 1000°C. Tempering at 730 - 800°C. Tempering should immediately follow quench hardening treatment since hardened steel is susceptible to stress corrosion cracking.
