DIN 1.6779 Heat Treatments

  • Quenching and tempering:

Austenitized at 880-930°C, quenched in water, tempered at 620-660°C

It is recommended to normalize the casting before annealing
The temperature for the stress relief heat treatment should be at least 20°C, but at most 50°C below the applied tempering temperature of the casting
  • Austenitized or solutionized at 880-930°C, cooled in water, polymer or oil. Annealed at 620-660°C
