DIN 1.6761 Heat Treatments

  • Hardening at 880 to 950°C, hardening two times in water; Tempering at 650 to 700°C; Preheating at 150 to 250°C; Stress-relief annealing at 580 to 620°C. If applicable, higher temperatures up to 30 K below the actually employed tempering temperatures may be permissible for stress-relief annealing.
  • Quenching: austenization 880-940°C, cool in water less than or equal to 200°C;Tempering: 650-700°C, cool in air to room temperature. Holding period is 12-16h according to dimensions; Quenching: austenization 880-940°C, cool in water less than or equal to 250°C; Tempering 650-700°C, cool in air to room temperature.
