DIN 1.6343 Heat Treatments
- Hardened at 860-950°C, cooled in air or quenched in oil or water
Tempered at 600-700°C
Stress relief annealed at 550-620°C. This temperature should be at least 30°C below the tempering temperature and should not exceed the upper limit of the temperature range indicated - Hardening: 880° to 940°C, after the temperature reach the entire cross-section and cooling in air; Tempering: 580° to 650°C, holding period after at least 30 min. and cooling in air; Tempering: 580° to 650°C, holding period at least 30 min., and cooling in air; Stress relieving: 530° to 590°C, for t <= 15.00 mm, duration => 15min, for 15.00 < t <= 30.00 mm, duration => 30 min. and for t > 30.00 mm about 60 min. and cooling in air.
