DIN 1.4562 Heat Treatments
- Hardening or quenching: Heated at 1130-1180°C, water quenched or air cooled
- Solution annealing at 1150°C - 1210°C and quenching in water or compressed air (depending on wall thickness), such that the temperature range is passed through quickly to 650°C.
The hot forming temperature is 1200°C to 1050°C, rapid cooling in water.
