Heat Treatments
- Hardening or quenching: Heated at 1020-1100°C, water quenched or air cooled.
- Hot forming: 1200-950°C, air cooling; Solution annealing (+AT): 1020-1100°C, water or air cooling (Cooling sufficiently rapidly in order to avoid precipitation). If heat treatment is carried out in a continuous furnace, the upper part of the range specified should usually be preferred, or even exceeded.
