DIN 1.4418 Heat Treatments
- Annealing: Heated at 600-640°C, air cooled.
Hardening or quenching (V1): Heated at 950-1050°C, air cooled or oil quenched.
Tempering: Heated at 590-620°C for minimum 2 x 4h or minimum 8h. For sheets, minimum 5h.
Hardening or quenching (V2): Heated at 950-1050°C, air cooled or oil quenched.
Tempering: Heated at 560-600°C for minimum 4h.
Hardening or quenching (V3): Heated at 950-1050°C, air cooled or oil quenched.
Tempering: Heated at 500-540°C for minimum 4h. Tempering at 350-400°C is also suitable. - 1010°C <= θ <= 1060°C / OQ or WQ. Air quenching may be used for De <= 20 mm. + Tempered 580°C <= θ <= 610°C.
