CSN 42 2992 Heat Treatments

Soft annealing at 860 to 880°C. Annealing in an inert atmosphere with a delay of temperature min. 10h. For improving machinability is appropriate cooling from a temperature of 860°C to 700°C at a rate of max. 5°C/h to 400°C at max. 50°C/h; Annealing to lower tension at 700 to 750°C, delay temperature 1-2h, cooling in the furnace speed of max. 30°C/h up to a temperature of 400°C; Hardening at 1190 to 1230°C, cooling in a salt bath temperature of 500-550°C or in oil, in air or in air stream; Tempering at 550 to 570°C, at least three-fold, from 1 to 1.5 hours.
