CSN 19 313 Heat Treatments
- Forging at 1050 to 850°C slowly cooling in still air or better, for example, in dry ash.
Soft annealing at 680 to 710°C, several hours of warming (by piece size), usually 4 hours and slowly cooling in the oven.
Annealing to reduce stress at 600 to 650°C, 1 to 2 hours to warm up and slowly cool in the oven.
Hardening in oil at 740 to 780°C, small objects or at 780 to 800°C for large objects.
Tempering at 100 to 300°C, cooling in the air (it must not come into the water), the degree of tempering is governed by the necessary hardness and toughness of the tool.
