CSN 17 040 Heat Treatments
- Forging at 1150 to 800°C and cooling in air.
Shaping sheets of thickness >= 5 mm, heating above 700°C, soft annealing.
Shaping sheets of thickness < 5 mm preheating 100-300°C (complex formation), cooling in air.
Annealing for thin sheets at 800 to 840°C, delay temperature for 1h, cooling in furnace at 0.5°C/min to a temperature of 650°C, than, air.
Annealing for thick sheets at 780 to 840°C, (2 min/1 mm of thickness, at least 60 minutes), cooling air or water.
Annealing weldments (to improve the corrosion properties) at 730 to 750°C, cooling in air.
