CSN 16 532 Heat Treatments
- Thermoforming at 1150 to 830°C, cooling slowly;
Normalizing at 890 to 910, cooling in air;
Soft annealing 700 to 730°C, cooling in furnace;
Hardening at 890 at 900°C, cooling in oil;
Tempering at 200 to 300°C, cooling in air. For prolonged tempering at a temperature above 260°C decreases impact strength.
