CSN 15 330 Heat Treatments
- Forging at 1150 to 800° and cooling slowly;
Normalizing at 800 to 860°C, cooling in air or 860 to 880°C for large forgings and cooling in air.
Hardening at 830 to 880°C (for thick pieces) and cooling in water or at 850 to 890°C (for parts to about 60 mm diameter) and cooling in oil.
Tempering at 550 to 650°C, cooling in water or oil.
Soft annealing at 700 to 740°C, cooling in water or oil.
Nitriding about 500°C.
