CSN 15 230 Heat Treatments


  • Forging at 1150 to 800°C, cooling slowly or at 1180 to 800°C for large forgings.
    Normalizing at 860 to 900°C, cooling in air (also for large forgings).
    Soft annealing at 700 to 740°C, cooling in furnace.
    Hardening at 830 to 880°C, cooling in water or at 850 to 890°C, cooling in oil (up to the diameter approximately 60mm, also for large forgings).
    Tempering at 550 to 660°C, cooling in water or at 550 to 650°C, cooling in air for large forgings.
    Nitriding at 490 to 510°C.
