CSN 14 340 Heat Treatments


  • Forging at 1100 to 800°C, after forging cooling slowly (ashes)
    Normalizing at 880 to 920°C, cooling in air.
    Hardening at 850 to 880°C, cooling in water.
    Tempering at 560 to 680°C, cooling in water.
    Soft annealing at 700 to 740°C, cooling in furnace.
    Annealing to lower tension at 580 to 630°C.
    Nitriding at 490 to 500°C.
