CSN 14 240 Heat Treatments
- Forging at 1150 to 850°C or 1180 to 800°C.
Normalizing at 830 to 870 or at 860 to 880°C and cooling in air.
Soft annealing at 680 to 720°C, gradually down - in the furnace.
Hardening in water at 830 to 850°C or in oil (to about 35 mm in diameter) at 840 to 870°C or for large forgings at 830 to 850°C.
Tempering in water at 560 to 680°C or in oil at 560 to 680°C (for complex-shaped components) or in air to 520 to 600°C for large forgings.
