CSN 14 231 Heat Treatments
- Values for rods 15 mm applies to hardening from a temperature of 860°C in oil and tempering to 200°C in oil.
Forging at 1200 to 800°C or 1250 to 800°C and cooling in air.
Normalizing at 880 to 920°C and cooling in air.
Soft annealing at 680 to 720°C and cooling in furnace.
Case-hardening in gas at 900 to 930°C cooling in air in powder at 860 to 900 and cooling or in air in salt bath at 890 to 910°C, cooling in air.
After getting cold hardening of carburizing temperature on 800 to 840°C, cooling in oil or in a hot bath of 150 to 200°C.
Hardening at 820 to 850°C, cooling in oil or in a hot bath of 150 to 200°C.
Nitrocarburization at 800 to 860°C, cooling in oil or in a hot bath of 150 to 200°C.
Tempering at 150 to 200°C, cooling in air.
