CSN 13 240 Heat Treatments


  • Recommended temperatures for forming and heat treatment:
    Normalizing at 850 to 890°C cooling in air.
    Soft annealing at 680 to 720°C, cooling in furnace
    Hardening at 820 to 850°C, cooling in water and at 840 to 880°C cooling in oil.
    Tempering at 530 to 680°C, cooling in water.
    Tempering at 530 to 680°C, cooling in oil.
    Tempering at 530 to 670°C, cooling in air.
    Recommended temperatures for forming and heat treatment for large forgings:
    Normalizing at 880 to 900°C cooling in air.
    Soft annealing at 640 to 710°C, slowly cooling.
    Hardening at 860 to 890°C, cooling in oil.
    Tempering at 530 to 600°C.
