CSN 12 014 Heat Treatments
- Recommended heat treatment: annealing at 830 +/-15°C; Achieving low magnetic intensity values is then subject to a sufficient delay to an annealing temperature. Great thickness below 2 mm is sufficient delay for 4 hours at thickness up to 3 mm 10 hours, at a thickness of 3 mm for 12 hours. Time annealing products from vacuum degassed steel can be shortened. The cooling rate from the annealing temperature max. 50°C/hr to 400°C and then slowly cooled in air or in the furnace to room temperature. Annealed products may not be removed from the container before its temperature falls to 50°C. Test rods and finished products must be annealed after forming and machining and must not be manipulated so that they could create internal tensions.
