B.S. HC 101 Heat Treatments
- Solution treatment: Heat uniformly at 1020°C to 1180°C for not les than 2h and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to air cooling (medium agreed); Hold at a temperature of not more than 25°C for not less than 24h before further heat treatment. Precipitation treatment: Heat uniformly at 800°C and 850°C for not les than 2h and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to air cooling (medium agreed); Hold at a temperature of not more than 25°C for not less than 2h before further heat treatment; Heat uniformly at 520°C and 620°C for not less than 2h and cool in air to room temperature. Alternatively, heat uniformly at 520°C and 620°C for not less than 2h and cool to room temperature at a rate equivalent to air cooling. The medium shall be at the option of the founder unless otherwise agreed with the purchaser.
