B.S. 826 M 40 Heat Treatments


  • Carburized for at least 1h at the hardening temperature between 800°C and 930°C. After cooling to room temperature they shall be reheated to the single quenching temperature and quenched in oil. Hardened at 820 - 850°C, quenched in oil; Tempered at max. 660°C.
  • Harden in oil from a temperature of 810°C–860°C.
    Temper at a suitable temperature between 550°C and 660°C.
