B.S. 352 S 54 Heat Treatments


  • 1. Solution-treat at a temperature within the range 1170–1200°C followed by quenching in oil or water. Precipitation-harden at a suitable temperature between 750°C and 850°C for a time between 6 hours and 15h.
    2. Stress-relieve by heating for 1–2h at a temperature within the range 750–800°C followed by air cooling.
