B.S. S 143 Heat Treatments
- Softening treatment: The softening treatment shall consist of heating uniformly at a temperature between 610°C and 630°C for not less than 2h, followed by cooling in air. Final heat treatment: Solution treatment - Heat uniformly at a temperature between 1000°C and 1050°C for not less than 30 min, followed by cooling in air to a temperature not exceeding 30°C, Precipitation treatment (first stage) - Heat at a temperature of 750 ± 10°C for not less than 2h, followed by cooling in air to a temperature not exceeding 30°C, Precipitation treatment (final stage) - Heat at a temperature between 530°C and 560°C for not less than 2h, followed by cooling in air.
