B.S. S 137 Heat Treatments
- Hardening: heat uniformly at a temperature between 1000 and 1020°C, followed by cooling in oil or air.
Tempering: heat at a temperature of 650 ± 10°C followed by cooling in air.
Retempering: heat at a temperature of 600 ± 10°C, followed by cooling in air.
