DIN 1.4591 Heat Treatments
- Hardening or quenching: Heated at 1080-1150°C, water quenched or air cooled
- Solution annealed at 1100-1170°C and quenched in water, or cooled in compressed air (depending on the wall thickness). Has proven to be a solution heat treatment at 1120-1140°C
The material can be cold formed and hot formed
For hot forming recommended temperature 1200-1000°C is recommended. After hot forming, renewed heat treatment according to regular heat treatment is required
After cold forming with deformation rate > 15%, reheat according to regular heat treatment is required.
