DIN 1.6781 Heat Treatments

  • Quenching and tempering:

    Austenitized at 880-930°C, quenched in water, tempered at 600-640°C

    It is recommended to normalize the casting before annealing
    The temperature for the stress relief heat treatment should be at least 20°C, but at most 50°C below the applied tempering temperature of the casting
  • Quenching (liquid or air cooling): 890-930°C; Tempering: 600-640°C.
