Heat Treatments
- Bar and wire for machining(HR 650A) , Delivery condition - Softened + 15% = reduction = 25% + solution treated + machined or ground: Θ = (900 ±10) °C/t = 1 h/AC or OQ or WQ + Θ = (980 ±10) °C/t = 1 h/AC or OQ or WQ. Use condition, Softened + cold worked + solution treated + precipitation treated: Delivery condition + t = (720 ±10) °C/t = 16 h/AC. Bar and wire for machining(HR 650B), Delivery = Use condition - Softened + 15% = reduction = 25% + solution treated + precipitation treated + machined or ground: Θ = (900 ±10) °C/t = 1 h/AC or OQ or WQ + Θ = (980 ±10) °C/t = 1 h/AC or OQ or WQ +t = (720 ±10) °C/t = 16 h/AC.
- Softening treatment: The material shall be heated uniformly at a temperature of 900 ± 10°C for not less than 1h followed by cooling in air, oil or water.<br><br>Solution treatment: It shall be heated uniformly at a temperature of 980 ± 10°C for not less than 1h followed by cooling in air, oil or water.<br><br>Precipitation treatment: It shall be heated uniformly at a temperature of 720 ± 10°C for not less than 16h followed by cooling in air.
